Brazil's Cuisine and Culture

Brazil cuisine culture seafoodThis tour goes deep into the many cultural and historical elements which have come to form Brazil’s ever-evolving gastronomy. Our 10 day version starts in Belem—the gateway to the Amazon basin and its vast variety of tropical fruits, vegetables and spices.

Next you are off to Salvador da Bahia, a coastal and culturally rich city where you stay in the historical old-town center of the Pelourinho district.  In addition to a full day spent exploring the colorful historical center of this UNESCO world heritage site, we’ve included a visit to local markets followed by a cooking workshop where you learn to make local favorites such as Moqueca.

Your final stop is the vibrant city of Rio de Janeiro. Besides visits to the cultural highlights of Corcovado and the Santa Teresa neighborhood, you will experience a full day street food tour, and a class in making famous Brazil cocktails such as the Caipirinha and Batida de Coco.a
