Posada Amazonas is built using a combination of traditional native materials (wood, palm fronds, wild cane and clay) and architecture and modern day eco-lodge technology. The lodge itself consists of a complex of four sections: rooms, dining area and kitchen, relaxation area and internal support facilities. The entire roof of the lodge is constructed using high quality crisneja palm fronds, whereas the floors are of tropical mahogany. The rooms complex is built of four 9 X 24 meter structures with six rooms per facility, for a total of 30 bedrooms. All rooms have private bathrooms with hot water, offer umbrellas and safe deposit boxes for your personal use, and were built with local materials for an authentic experience.

General Facilities at Posada Amazonas

Electricity- A generator is turned on 3 x per day. At night it is very dark, so we recommend good flashlights. Light is provided by numerous kerosene lamps and candles.
Communication – Posada Amazonas is in daily contact with our offices in Puerto Maldonado and Lima via internet, satellite phone and hf radio.
Mosquito Nets - All rooms have mosquito nets on beds, bedside tables and a rack of clothes hangers.
Jungle Views - Bedrooms open out onto the surrounding rainforest, allowing guests to enjoy this unique ecosystem even on their downtime, with wild animals, including monkeys, often visible from the lodge.
Hot Water - Showers have hot water

Comfort Rooms
Our Comfort rooms have lovely, varnished tropical hardwood floors, are 450 square feet, and have an open verandah that looks out into a roadless, wild tropical rainforest preserve. You'll also find a comfortable hammock, and a reading table. Comfort rooms include:

2 full size beds with mosquito netting
A big spacious bathroom with plenty of hot water and eco-friendly amenities.
An outlet to charge your laptop, tablet, and other devices.
Free online WIFI access from the comfort and privacy of the common areas to communicate with the outside world, and share the images and excitement of your Amazon adventure. (available 3 x per day)

Suite Rooms: Add a bit of extra comfort and quality to your Amazon experience by staying in one of our premium rooms. We are offering one of these excellent new rooms at Posada Amazonas for guests who prefer to upgrade their stay in the Peruvian Amazon. These rooms also add comfort with 2 king sized beds, hypoallergenic pillows, ceiling fans, electricity, and other fine amenities in the middle of the jungle.
